My Christmas book haul

A lot of people have been asking me what books did I get for Christmas, so I thought I would list them here. I did rather well on books. I got 13 on Christmas day, followed by another 8 that I bought with the book vouchers that I got.
The books I actually received for Christmas are as follows:

Touch the Dark - Karen Chance

Claimed by the Shadow - Karen Chance ( both books are in a series about vampires, there is a third book which I will get if I like these.

Inkheart - Cornelia Funke - which I have just finished and will review very soon. I will definitely be getting the other two books.

The Forgotten Garden - Kate Moreton. Having read her first book, I just had to have this.
America - Stephen Fry - non fiction book detailing his journey around America. I had watched the series before Christmas and loved it.

Stori Telling - Tori Spelling. I am and have always been a very big Beverly Hills 90210 fan, so I actually asked for this book. It's an addiction - I am really sorry.

Life With My Sister Madonna - Christopher Ciccone. This book is meant to be very revealing,so really looking forward to it.

Two enclyopedias - The Element Encyclopedia of Secret Societies and The Element Encyclopedia of Witch Craft - these books haved some fascinating information in them but are absolutely huge, so they are more dip in books than constant readers.

Two cookbooks - Soul in a Bowl - Mama Cherri - this lady has a restaurant in Brighton which was revived by Gordon Ramsey - we have been meaning to go to it for the last couple of years. I am determined to go to the next time I go.

The American Diner Cookbook - this has some fabulous recipes in it and lots of information about what the old American diners used to be like.

Twilight - the movie companion - loved the book, loved the film, can't wait to get it on DVD!

The last two I received on Christmas day were writing guides - What If?-Anne Bernays and Pamela Painter . The Creative Writing Coursebook - edited by Julia Bell and Paul Magrs.

The ones I bought with my vouchers are pictured below.

These are four of the Richard and Judy Book club ones.

These are the other four I picked up with my Waterstones vouchers. There is nothing better than browsing round a bookstore, spending someone else's money!

So as you can see, I really will be busy reading.

I have signed up for my first book challenge with Vasilly called 'In their Shoes'. I would post a link, but I still haven't worked out how to do that, but if you look at my list of followers you should be able to get into their website. The challenge is to read either autobiographies, biographies or memoirs between January 1st and December 31st. You get to pick how many you want to read. I have decided to pick four and will start with Tori Spelling.

I hope to link up with some more challenges which I will list for others to hopefully join in with.

Here is my photo of the day for my 365 day photo challenge.

My Christmas decorations all being put away. Boo hoo!
Anyway I will stop chattering on now and get on with ordering my Friday night takeaway!
Bye for now

  4. Hrm. I just commented and it said there was some error. Oops.

Just wanted to stop by and say hello and thank you for visiting my blog. Good luck on yours, I see you've just started! It looks like a great haul of books - I really liked Inkheart when I read it a few years book but I haven't kept up with the other two books in the series. Did you watch the TV adaptation of The Thief Lord on TV the other day (the book was also written by Funke)? Even my husband enjoyed that!

Loved, loved, loved The Magician's Guild!
