I only ever buy brand new books when I get a voucher or if there is a book I am desperate to read, so I really enjoyed browsing round Waterstones, not really knowing what to pick.I ended up buying 3 books for the price of 2 - The Other Hand by Chris Cleave, which has been highly recommended, without having a clue what its about as no one will tell me and the blurb doesn't want you to know, so as not to spoil the story.
North Child by Edith Pattou, for people who like Philip Pullman books.
The Evil Seed by Joanne Harris, who debut book which has only just been published.
I also got The Last Concubine by Lesley Downer, which was the book of the week and therefore half price.
Lastly I picked up When Will There Be Good News by Kate Atkinson which was reduced to £2.99, if you spent over £10. The last book of hers I read was Behind the Scenes at The Museum, many years ago.
So I think I had a good haul for Valentines day, what did you get?

I absolutely adore Joanne Harris so would love a look at that one and Kate Atkinson. I read North Child some time last year its really beautiful and was sad when I'd finished it I wanted more!

Lovely to see you at the library yesterday you inspired me to go. I chose Burning Bright by Tracy Chevalier I've read some of her others and enjoyed them Virgin Blue was really good.
