Let's Celebrate Life.

I just thought I would share a layout I did for the UK scrappers weekly challenge, which I never got around to entering as I only finished it this morning and a new challenge went out today. The challenge was to design a LO that celebrated womanhood and I thought what better way of showing what we do best, but childbirth.

This picture was taken in hospital, when the girls were barely a week old. They were very premature and had to stay in hospital for quite a while, but as you have seen in recent photos they are definitely not tiny any more. I do have one slight problem with the photograph. I haven't a clue which of my girls is in the picture. Unfortunately, when they were small, it was just so hectic, I never got around to labelling the photos.

In the LO, I wanted to create the rainbow effect, so I used lots of different coloured strips, then painted my letters with gold sparkle.

This week's challenge is to scrap something you would like to learn . This is an easy one for me, as I spent all day yesterday, raving about crocheting, so that will be my theme for that LO. Below, is a picture of my first attempt at crocheting, which I am rather pleased with. The only problem was I couldn't work out where to start the next row. Hopefully I will get there in the end.

I also wanted to share with you another book I won from Katrina over at Stone Soup . I am looking forward to reading it.

That's all for today. Thanks for stopping by.

  2. You know as much as I sometimes lament about the dozens of boxes of photos I still have left to scrap, in reality, I'm actually very glad I have so many pictures left. I just love digging out baby pictures to scrap, and getting to relive all those memories. Even the NICU memories, which were sometimes scary...but they're all part of the whole story. Lovely layout you did! And it looks like you're doing great with your crocheting, too!

  6. What a beautiful photo of you and your daughter. HOw precious. Good luck with the crocheting. I really need to drag one of my many projects out and get to work. I love the title of that book The Breadmaker's Carnival. I'll have to go check out what it's about.
