Scrapping something I do everyday!

I have really struggled with my scrapbooking lately, since suffering from severe scrappers block. However, I feel a change is occurring and I am eager to scrap again. I made the following layout, after reading the catalyst 51 on Creative Therapy.

This site provides weekly inspiration for the struggling scrappers and presents lots of unusual ideas for topics for scrap pages.

This week it asked for pages created around something you do for yourself everyday.
So I created my page around reading, as that is definitely something I do everyday.

So here is my page. I used Fancy Pants paper called Rockin' as well as DCVW glitter letters from the All Dressed Up range.

The writing reads ' A book is never far from my hands. I breathe, therefore I read!

I actually completed it in an hour, so I am really proud at myself, as it left plenty of time for reading!

I have to thank Jo and Anne for inspiring me this week with their lovely designs. If you click on their names it will take you to their lovely scrap pages. Thanks ladies.

It is a shame the glittery letters didn't show up very well in the photos because they are absolutely fabulous. If I keep this up, I might end up with two blogs, one for my scrapping and one for my reading!

What hobbies do you have that can entice you away from reading occasionally? Do you balance out the time that you spend on your hobbies, so that you are not always reading?

On a book note, I feel a little guilty this week, as I feel like I have profited from others misfortune. In our local town, Sussex Stationers is closing down, as the company do not want to renew the lease. So all there stock was being sold off for half price. There books were already sold at lower prices than other book shops, so their books were being sold for 50p up to £3.00. Well, you can imagine what that was like for me, a bull to a red rag! As you can see, I spent a glorious half hour, choosing books to buy. There wasn't loads left, but I could easily find some that I liked.
The books are as follows:
A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle (I have been after this for sometime, since I read about it on Oprah's site)
Lark Rise to Candleford by Flora Thompson ( I love the series and had wanted this for awhile, but there was no way that I was going to spend £12 on it, so I got it for £3. When I got it home, I realised it was a trilogy all in one book, that was why it was so expensive.)
Odd Hours by Dean Koontz - (Naida over at bookworm really likes him, so I thought I would give this a go.)
The Luminous Life of Lilly Aphrodite by Beatrice Colin ( a Richard and Judy book for 2009)
The Suspicions of Mr Whicher by Kate Summerscale ( true story set in 1800's, also a Richard and Judy book for 2009)
Rumours by Anna Godberson (someone recommended this, but I can't for the life of me remember who - so sorry which ever blogger it was!)
Glass Houses by Rachel Caine ( since Twilight, I am always up for a vampire trilogy and this is book one)
Kissing Sin by Keri Arthur (vampire/werewolf book - what can I say, I am becoming addicted to vampires)
I think I did really well, but I felt awful about the women who work there and hope that they are successful at finding new jobs very quickly.

  1. Ohhhh you got Rumors! Have you read the Luxe yet? You'll want to make sure you read that one first.

  2. Wow, your scrapbooking is always so beautiful. I wish I had the talent and patience to create something so nice. You sure got a load of good books. I agree with the post above, you'll have to get Luxe to read before Rumors. There is now Envy out in that series too. I also have Mudbound. I've heard it's really good. Happy reading and scrapping!

  7. wonderful scrapping project! luv the layout and the glittery letters.

and great books! glad to see you got a Koontz book. I really like that series, the first two were great. The third was so-so, and I have that fourth one in my TBR pile :) Odd Thomas is a great character.
'A New Earth' changed my way of thinking, in a postive way! It's such a powerful book.
    happy reading.

and glad you liked the bookmark :)
