This week, it really has hit me how generous my friends are. All of them are aware of my reading obsession and have lent me an abundance of books this week.
Fiona lent me The Marriage Bureau of Rich People by Farahad Zama. Fiona knew I was having trouble finding a Z author for the A to Z challenge and came to my aid.
Deidre, knowing my new found love for Joanne Harris lent me Gentlemen and Players.
Barbara unknown to her, lent me a book I was absolutely desperate to read and finished in one sitting, The Reader - what a book! ( I shall be reviewing this tomorrow.)
Alison - I have lost count of the amount of wonderful books she has shared with me this month, but everyone has been wonderful. I have The Glass Tower and Airman left to read.
Also my friend Elizabeth made some lovely tags for our scrapping gang, which I can't wait to use.
I thank you all for your generosity.
The books mentioned above and pictured below are the ones I am hoping to read this week.
This week, I have read Wintersmith by Terry Pratchett, Knife by R.J Anderson and The Reader by Bernhard Schlink.
I also completed the Young Adult Challenge set by J.Kaye.
The books in my Young Adult list are as follows:
1) Inkheart by Cornelia Funke
2) The Baileys Game by Celia Rees
3) The Shamers Daughter by Lene Kaaberbol
4) Forged by the Fire by Ann Turnball
5) The Haunting of Cassie Palmer by Vivien Alcock
6) Pirates by Celia Rees
7) City of Bones by Cassandra Clay
8)Tithe by Holly Black
9) The Astonishing Life of Octavian Nothing by M.T Anderson
10)A Hat Full of Sky by Terry Pratchett
11) Wintersmith by Terry Pratchett
12) Knife by R.J Anderson
If I had to pick favourites out of this list I would say City of Bones would be first, followed by Knife in second place and the majority of the rest in third place. They were all really good books.
That is all for this week, I hope to visit lots of your blogs today.
Have a fab reading week.

Have a fab reading week.
I'm so happy that it's almost Spring. The weather has been fabulous here these past few days, and that always cheers me up :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on finishing the YA challenge! With all the YA I've been reading this year, I should have joined as well. I hope you have a great week!
I still haven't read a single book by Harris...ok new chaööenge for me, read one :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on completing the challenge,I have heard only things about Tithe for example
Congrats on finishing the challenge! I need to start reading more books for it. Your flowers are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI've been tempted to read "The Reader". I think its neat you have friends that will loan you books. Most of the people I know are not big fans of book reading so I'm on my own there.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! That is so awesome!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on finishing up the challenge already!
ReplyDeleteLove your photo! Today was beautiful here, but it will be a while before daffodils are blooming, I'm afraid. I saw today that they were just being to poke themselves up through the dirt. Which is definitely a welcome sign! (Though snow is predicted for later in the week.)
That's a pretty daffodil!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on completing the challenge! :D
Happy reading for all the books that you've set out for this week!
Such a beautiful daffodil! I am not a gardener and unfortunately my hsuband isn't either. Our flower beds tend to remain bare in recent years. Pitiful, I know. I've tried growing flowers, but they never last long. I must have the brownest thumb in the world.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have some wonderful book to read. I hope to read Gentleman and Players one of these days. It sounds so good.
Congratulations on completing the Young Adult Challenge! Have a great week.
Friends are so wonderful! I thought Gentlemen and Players was a lot of fun. :) And congrats on finishing a challenge! I enjoyed Wintersmith, but I thought the first two books in the series were much better.
ReplyDeleteYou know I haven't seen any blooming flowers here yet. They probably bloom when I'm least expecting it like the trees. I love spring!
ReplyDeletesounds like you do have nice friends!
ReplyDeletehappy reading :)
the flowers are beautiful.
