After a few days busy with Easter celebrations and basically having a fabulous time, I came back to reality today with lots of ironing, washing, severe lack of food in the cupboards and nearly 100 posts to read on my google reader! I read as many as I had time to, but something had to give - unfortunately I had to mark a lot as read - sorry everyone - I do so enjoy reading them.

Over the long weekend I knew I had to do something about this.
My bedroom floor was about to be taken over by books and I just had to buy some book shelves. So now my lovely pile of books are all neatly arranged on my lovely bookshelves which I filled with ease, as you can see from the picture below. We have decided to get two more book shelves, so that the landing is completely full. It will be like my own little library.
It was my birthday over the weekend, which is one of the reasons why I was kept so busy. I had a lovely day, got lots of money and lots of book vouchers. We went out to breakfast with our close friends, who then spent the rest of the day at our house, enjoying the fabulous weather.
I managed to spend one lot of my vouchers and bought the books below.

The Luxe by Anne Godberson - I already had Rumors, which I found out was the second book in the series, so I thought it best to buy the first to start with.
The Cave by Kate Mosse - a nice quick read by the author of those tombs Labyrinth and Sepulchre.
The 13 Treasures by Michelle Harrison won the Whitbread Childrens Book of the Year 2009. Marked, Betrayed and Chosen by P.C. and Kristen Cast. I have heard such rave reviews about these three books and how quickly you all read them, I just had to have them.

I still have lots of vouchers to spend, but I shall save them for a rainy day.
I hope you all had a fab Easter weekend, I have photos to share over the next couple of weeks and quite a few book reviews to catch up with.
Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Great selection of books, I really want to read those three by PC Cast! One of the jobs we've completed over the Easter weekend was to put another bookshelf up in the garage. I'm looking forward to having a tidy place to put my books but I'm dreading moving all those books from around the house :(

  5. Just came across your blog - reading and scrapbooking, 2 of my favourite things. Great bookshelves & great piles of books LOL. Reminds me of the sorting I have to do here. TBR piles in my bedroom & the office & three bookshelves overflowing *sigh*

  12. Happy birthday! I hope you had a really lovely day. And I understand what you mean about coming back to your reader and finding 100 posts. I'm finally almost caught up from the weekend, but I know tomorrow there will be a new batch of posts. :) Seems like a never ending thing! I guess we wouldn't be here if we didn't enjoy it, though.
