Sunday Salon- Another challenge completed.

This morning finds me really tired, as I spent yesterday at a huge scrapbooking show in London, so a bleary eyed welcome to all Sunday Saloners this morning. If you want to know more about Sunday Salon you will find it here.

I am feeling really pleased with myself today, as this week I completed the second one of my reading challenges and we are only a quarter of the way through the year. I have read 25 new authors to me. How fabulous is that. I am not going to list all 25 here, as they are listed on the right hand side of my blog.

I have read some fabulous new authors and there are quite a few I plan to read again. Holly Black and Cassandra Clare might just be my favourite out of them all. I also really enjoyed R.J Anderson who wrote Knife. I have also really enjoyed the Spooks series by Joseph Delaney.

This week I feel my reading has slowed down a bit. I think that is mainly due to the kids being off for Easter and I have spent most of Easter rushing around like a loony in order to keep them entertained. Normal life will resume tomorrow and I might stop feeling so tired.

This week I finished reading the following three books:

Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton

The Spook's Apprentice by Joseph Delaney.

Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder

The first two I have already reviewed this week, so if you click on the titles, they will take you to the reviews. Little House in the Big Woods will be reviewed tomorrow.

I am still reading Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden and Bad Blood by Lorna Sage. I have also started reading the second Spooks book - The Spook's Curse and Holy Fools by Joanne Harris.

I have loads of new books to read, so I hope to start some of them soon.

Have you managed to get a lot of reading done with the children off?

  2. 25 new authors, very cool. I'm doing that challenge too. My kids were off last week, and it doesnt really change my reading habits, since I still have to work.

  8. Congratulations on the completion of your challenges!

I'm very bad with them and I kept distracting myself with the others books not in my challenges. Hmm...

  9. I think you've done a great job with your challenges - maybe you're more organised than you think!

I got very little reading done :( I took 5 books with me on holiday thinking I'd get loads of reading done, but only managed half of one! HA!
