Whilst the children were off last week we went to a lovely place called Leonardslee Gardens which should really be visited in May as it is well known for it's beautiful spring gardens full of hydrangeas. The girls and I had a fabulous time there, it was like being in our very own secret garden.
They also have a selection of wallabies there, which were really interesting to watch. Especially seeing their babies in the pouches.
As well as the gardens, they also have one of the largest collections of dolls houses in the world. We spent a lovely time looking into all the little houses and shops. The detail in these dolls houses was amazing.
They were set in Victorian times with elegant costumes and servants waiting on everyone. It made me desperate to get into the cases and play with all the tiny objects.
The nearest we have to a dolls house are a selection of Sylvanian family houses and shops, but they are just not the same.

Every window was just so detailed.
Here are the girls resting after a long walk through a maze to eventually find the top of the hill again.
Aww, the wallabies are adorable. What a lovely place! Your pictures are just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, that looks like such a beautiful place to visit. You have so many great places around you. I wish it was that way here. I love doll houses! Those are amazing. I can't believe the minute detail they have in them with absolutely everything. I would love to see those in person and like you would love to get my fingers in there and explore.

How pretty! Sounds like a really wonderful day :)
ReplyDeleteI love the little people, too. When I was little there was a garden my grandfather used to take us to that had wonderful landscaping but also a little tiny village. I used to LOVE going to see the village (and now have two Christmas villages that I tinker with during the holidays). Thanks for sharing with us!
