Saturday without the scrapping.

I have absolutely no scrapping to show this week, as it has been the last week of the holidays and my scrap stuff has just sat gathering rather large amounts of dust and cat hair. Yesterday, I had hoped to do some as we had our first official Family Duvet/Pyjama day. The girls got out every DVD they own, with a few new ones added. I planned a menu of the unhealthiest snacks I could find (popcorn, marshmallows, After Eights, chocolate milk, fried egg sandwiches and lemon sorbet) and we just didn't get up. I thought I might hide at my desk for an hour, but every time I left the sofa the children would moan I wasn't participating properly, so I moved back to the sofa with my ever trusty book pile.

Although I didn't make any scrap pages, I did purchase a few new bits over the holidays.
I bought some 6x6 pads of paper from My Minds Eye and some stickers. I have been trying to buy more smaller pads of patterned paper as I have so much 12x12 paper that I hate to cut up. Though saying that, I am heading to Alexander Palace at the end of the month for the big scrap show and I know I will be tempted by all the pretty paper.

I also picked up a box of A5 cardstock for £1. I thought it would be ideal for mounting photos. The cardstock underneath came free with the papers in the picture above.

I also wanted to share the two new additions to our mug cupboard. I hate to have all our mugs matching, even though I have some plain white ones for visitors. This two mugs describe hubby and me to a tee. A fishing one for him with a rude comment and a reading one for me. Hubby bought the reading mug as a surprise for me, as he knew I was upset at breaking my cupcake mug.
I thought the quote on the back of the mug, was very appropriate.

I also wanted to show you the gift I received from my friend. Most people know I love all things cupcake and Yvette brought me this lovely mini cake stand back from her holiday.
Isn't it fabulous!
Next week, I promise to have scrap pages to show, as I have my monthly scrap day today and have many pages pages planned.
Hope you have a great day.

  6. Hi Vivienne,
Sounds like you were torn between reading, scrapbooking, and being a mom. But it does sound like you all had a great time. Love your new mug, very appropriate saying for your mug. Love your new cake plate, it's very pretty! I also got the book you sent Getting to Manana. Can't wait to start reading it! One last thing, You have an award waiting for you at my place, Just Books. Come by and pick it up. Have a great day!

  8. The pajama/duvet party sounds like great fun! We have a nice set of matching mugs but never use them because we love our mismatched mugs too much!

  9. Love that book quote--what a beautiful thought. Have you ever tried digital scrapbooking? I'm thinking of taking the plunge on some software just to find out if I'll like it.

  10. Pajama parties are awesome! My kids do the same thing if I try to get work done when we're watching a movie.

    What are After Eights?

  11. Nice to hear I am not the only one who has mixed mugs.

Alyce - After Eights are thin mint chocolates, considered to be an after dinner mint. That is where they get the name After Eights.
