Good morning Sunday Saloners,
If you would like to read more about Sunday Salon, or take part in it, you will find it here.
For today's salon, I thought I would do a round up of the books that I read this month.
7) Nana 2 by Ai Yazawa - on the same review post as item number 6.
8) Moomin Comic Strip by Tove Jansson - on the same review post as item no. 6.
9) Creatures of the Dark by Neil Gaiman and Michael Zulli - on the same post as no 6.
11) The Spellbound Hotel by Tom Eglington - to be reviewed.
12) The Ask and The Answer by Patrick Ness- to be reviewed.
Now I know that 12 books really doesn't seem that bad, but for me, I think I am slacking as four of the books were graphic books, so I only really read 8 longer books and I have been reading up to 12 long books.
I am pleased that I have nearly finished my 100 book challenge, as I am now up to 94 books for the year. I should finish this challenge this month.
My reading week this week has been really slow. I finally managed to finish The Ask and The Answer which has taken me two weeks to read. I am now reading Sexing the Cherry by Jean Winterson, which is rather a strange book and I am not totally sure what is going on in it. I have also started Uglies by Scott Westerfield, which I am really enjoying. I hope to finish both books this week and start reading Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. Now I know there is a group reading of this over the next two weeks, but I have had to decline joining it, as I am off on holiday right in the middle of it. So apologies to the lovely bloggers who suggested that I join and please keep me in mind for any other group reads on my return.
I am hoping to have a quiet day with the girls today, so I might just get to fit in an hour of reading.
Have a lovely Sunday.

Hi Viv, how I wish you could join us in the Rebecca read-along group, but as you've said, you'll be away! Have a lovely Sunday!

ReplyDeletePlease don't beat yourself up over this -12 books is pretty good going. Relax and have a wonderful day with the girls.
ReplyDeleteI am up to 70 something and very proud of myself but you are doing great :D
ReplyDeleteI think twelve books is great no matter how you slice it! I didn't come close to that this month. :(
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful, relaxing day, Vivienne!
Wow, you've done a lot of reading! I'm not sure if I ever read "Jamaica Inn," but if I did, it was a VERY long time ago.
ReplyDeleteI need to read it again!
"Rebecca," I do recall! It was also a long time ago, so I should reread it.

Viv, you've had a great month with all you've had going on in your life. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteYou've had a lot going on! Take it easy on yourself.
ReplyDeleteHope you've had a lovely relaxing day with the girls. 12 books? Blimey I'm still working my way through The Host. Enjoying it though :)
ReplyDeleteCan I just say I'm ridiculously excited about hearing your thoughts on Uglies?
ReplyDeleteYou had an amazing reading month! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteAs you know I now have a copy of Angelica and who knows when I will be able to get to it, but I am looking forward to it. Happy reading this month. I don't think you did to badly. I only managed not even a handful of books for September.
ReplyDeleteSorry this month wasn't as good for you as previous ones, but given life circumstances I think that's OK. Anyway, does my reading only 4 books make you feel better? And one was a YA book that I read in two sittings...!
ReplyDeleteHave a great week Vivienne.
I hope that you had a good relaxing day of reading! I absolutely loved Uglies (and the rest of the series was good too).
ReplyDeleteI havent counted total reads for the year yet. This is my first year of seriously blogging so I know I have upped my reads... :)
ReplyDeleteGreat list of books you have!
I think 12 books is fantastic, so well done to you :)
ReplyDeleteYou've read a lot of books! I also have bought Rebecca, and can't wait to read it! I am looking forward to reading your reviews!
ReplyDeleteHow cool that you're almost at 100 books for the year already! For some reason I think my reading has slowed down a bit this year but there's still time to get some more books in :)
ReplyDeleteAnd, hope you are enjoying Sexing the Cherry. I read that one earlier this year and I agree, a very odd book.
