Christmas Eve! A Week Today!

I cannot believe that this time next week we will be waking up to Christmas Eve. I love Christmas but I do find it rather hectic. However, this year as you know, I have been really organised and everything is now under control almost a week before it happens. The best thing I did was to take a week away from blogging to concentrate on Christmas.

So, as the children break up from school today, I am ready for the festivities to begin. The presents are bought and wrapped; the turkey is on order; the fridges and freezers are ready for the heavy burden of all the festive food; Sky + is groaning under the strain of all the Christmas films and programmes waiting to be watched. I am officially ready.

We have lot of visitors popping in over Christmas which I am really excited about. Our house will be a hive of activity and I cannot wait. It is the best time of year, to catch up with old friends and loved ones. Now if I could just conjure up a little bit of snow to complete the Christmas scene.

So now that I am calming down and enjoying the festive season, I am curious as to how everyone else is coping with the run up to Christmas and what are your plans for Christmas.

Have you bought all the presents? What have you got left to do?

  1. A lovely seasonal post. You are so right, it's good to catch up with family and friends. The first time in many years that one of us hasn't been ill, we are all sorted, just the wrapping of presents to do.

  2. So happy you are not stressed and are able to enjoy the season. Christmas is not stressful here as there are few presents to purchase and only 6 of us that gather together. I just need to wrap a few things :) ENJOY VIV

  3. Hey Viv, here is the code to make it snow, at least on your blog! Just put < at the beginning at > at the end and you're all set.

  6. This month is flying by, isn't it? We're all set, just lots of wrapping to do still. But I never like to do that too early..

  7. I'm going to pick up a few things today, but mostly I'm ready. Our Christmas won't be very big this year because we had an unexpected $1500 car repair bill.

  8. Christmas Eve is my birthday, too so I am very excited about the coming week. I've got all the presents ready and wrapped (but not under the tree since the three year old would never be able to resist). Christmas cards are addressed and stamped but I still need to get to a post office and mail them (also to mail the one for my grandfather in Germany).

I need to go grocery shopping this weekend and decide what I want to eat on my birthday. I'm hoping to go out to eat, but I need to decide where and make sure they will be open.

  9. Sounds like a wonderful holiday! My niece is always here for Christmas, and my sister and her fiance arrive Christmas day, so I'm excited about that. :) Christmas has always been more of an immediate-family thing for me, and I love it all the same!

  10. I am so jealous! I am so far behind and this week we've been so busy after work that I'm not getting anything done. I am going to finish Christmas stuff this weekend. You are rocking though! I hope you get some beautiful fluffy snow for Christmas!
