Can you believe it has been a whole year since I started this blog and I think I managed to get three people to read it on that first post. I remember my first readers very clearly - Jen at Mommablogsalot and Vasilly over at 1330v. The other reader Jo, was a personal friend,so it was nice to have such friendly people around. You can see my first ever post here.
I have made some fantastic blogging pals, people who I seem to speak to every day, more than my own family! You all know who you are, I wouldn't be without you all and I thank you dearly for reading my blog and for expanding my reading world. Not forgetting some of my scrapping friends who regularly pop by and give me inspiration.
I have read books and authors that I would never have believed that I would enjoy; from Daphne Du Maurier to Oscar Wilde. I have fallen in love with the Victorian Gothic books as well as Young Adult books. I have read many more than I would normally have read. Never in a million years would I have believed I could possibly read 100 books in a year, but I have read them and gone well over that limit.
This year, I plan to read even more, but to branch out into new genres for me, as well as try to read more internationally. I intend to read graphic novels and ones classified as GLBT, both genres I don't normally venture into. I feel really excited by the new reading year and can't wait to get started.
My week of parties and buffets has come to an end, so I am raring to get on with this New Year.
