Cover Lust

This is a new feature on Serendipity which I hope to run on a regular basis. As you know, I am shallow and just like a magpie I follow glittery things and lust after pretty items. Well I also love looking at books covers and each week I want to show at least one I have fallen in love with.

The  first cover that I have fallen in love with is the cover for Amy Plum's debut novel 'To Die For' which is released by Atom and Harper Collins in May. This is a young adult novel.

The cover is so striking, the red really stands out and I want this as a picture for my wall.

This book follows the story of 16 year old Kate who moves to Paris after her parents death. She falls in love with Vincent, who isn't your typical French teenager. This book is full of romance and horror. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

If you want to find out more about Amy's book then please visit her blog site here.

Good luck Amy with your debut.

  3. LOL yeap I have been known to buy a book for the cover. Agree with you the cover is really cool. YA seem to have some of the best covers on their books. Will have to check into this one.

  5. Oh I have chosen so many books based purely on their covers! From memory - Atonement (years ago - before they all had Keira Knightly on the front!), Brick Lane by Monica Ali and one of my favourite covers, The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood. Shallow, moi?!

  6. I'm not sure that book sounds like my kind of book (depends on if there ends up being some paranormal stuff in it, which you know is not my fav), but you're right, that cover is gorgeous!

  7. What a great feature, I look forward to seeing what other sparkly, glittery covers you discover. I like this one but not enough to want to put it on my walls.

  10. Thank you, Vivienne! I am really crushing on it myself. The colors are amazing, and the rooftops of Paris SO romantic! Now, if only Vincent were standing there holding Kate's hand... *faints*

  11. Verity - I may get carried away with the sparkle if not careful,

Naida - my shallow side is on show!

Kathy - your right, the YA covers are the best lately. Perhaps all teenagers are drawn to shiny things too.

Blodeuedd - the vines were done by a different artist, so two artists put the picture together.

Anne - you know why don't you. It is our addiction to shiny things and pretty things for our scrap pages.

Amanda - can't wait to get my hands on it to find out.

Petty Witter - I am so easily led by bright and shiny things

    Kathy - thankyou.

Suko - yes it is. I made it up today. I keep seeing such beautiful covers that I wanted to make a feature of it.

Clover - aha another convert to the pretty covers.

Amy Plum - thank you! For coming onto my wee little blog. Thank you for tempting me with this cover!

  12. Who doesn't like sparkly things :) That is a beautiful cover. It would definitely be a book I'd pick up just on the cover alone. Can't wait to see which book you'll feature next.

By the way, I really like your new blog look. I'm such a girl and love pink :)
