Really Random Tuesday

Really Random Tuesday is a meme created by Suko at Suko's Notebook which is a way to post odds and ends--announcements, musings, quotes, photos--any blogging and book-related things you can think of.

Firstly I would like to announce the winner of the recent competition to win a copy of Here, Home, Hope by Kaira Rouda. The competition closed on Saturday and was open to UK residents only.
The randomizer picked

Books For Company

Well done Books For Company, an email should be heading your way for your address. Sorry to everyone else who entered and did not win. A new competition will be coming soon.

Just to let you know that Serendipity has its own FACEBOOK page now. If you would like to become a fan, then please click here. I hope to provide lots of quick updates and photos as well as links to the blog on a regular basis, allowing you quicker access to information about the books I love.  I hope to be running a Facebook page competition really soon too. So quick, go and press 'LIKE'.

Have you heard of Fiction Express? No, well you might want to check it out. Especially if you have children!

Here is the link.

I will let the Fiction Express team introduce the concept to you, as I think they say it the best.

Fiction Express launched today - Friday 6th May 2011!
Fiction Express is an entirely new concept in fiction publishing for tweens and teens. It enables readers to engage with their favourite authors in a unique and original way by allowing them to contribute to the plot.

Each episode is available to be read at 3.30 pm (UK time) every Friday. At the end of each chapter are a number of options on which readers can vote. The option with the most votes is the one the author writes in time for issue on the next Friday.
Check out the first chapters of our launching titles for FREE right now!
I have actually joined and bought my credits after reading the AMAZING first chapter of Luisa Plaja's new book, Diary Of A Mall Girl. I loved that I got to vote at the end of the chapter, how I would like the story to go.  As it says above, the first chapter is free, so you can pick and choose the ones you would like to read.

Have you given a drop of your blood to Darren Shan yet?

Darren Shan and Harper Collins Children's Books are running a competition on Facebook, where by offering a virtual drop of your blood, you get the chance to win one of a 1000 prizes. I feel that Mr Shan may be bleeding me dry now. LOL. There are some fabulous prizes including IPOD Nano's as well as whole sets of Darren Shan's books. Click here to lose a little blood!

A couple of book trailers to finish the post off.

The Emerald Atlas by John Stephens is one of the books I am reading at the moment and I have to say I am really enjoying it.

Here is the new trailer for Passion by Lauren Kate. I have just picked up Torment which I hope to read soon, to get me up to date on this series.

Well that is my random book news this week? Which bit caught your eye? What will you be investigating now?
