On My Wishlist (4)

On My Wishlist is a fun weekly event hosted by Book Chick City and runs every Saturday. It's where you can list all the books you desperately want but haven't actually bought yet. They can be old, new or forthcoming.

Finding Sky by Joss Stirling
I absolutely adored Finding Sky last year, in fact I would go to say it was one of my favourite books of 2010. So I am extremely excited about the second book in the series coming out soon, although I am not sure if the same characters are in it. I think this one is about one of the other brothers.  I have no idea when it is coming out but I do hope it is soon!

Summary
What do you do when your soul mate turns out to be a thief? Steal her, of course. Phoenix was raised within the Community, a gang of thieves with paranormal powers, under the control of a harsh master known as the Seer. The notion that there's a soul mate out there for every person with a paranormal gift is mere myth in Phoenix's world. That is until the Seer gives Phoenix the details of her next target, Yves Benedict. He's more than just her next victim, he is her destiny. To be together, Phoenix must break away from the Community but resistance against the Seer puts them both in mortal danger. Phoenix has never trusted anyone before, now it's time to trust Yves with her life.

Rainshadow Road by Lisa Kleypas
I read the first book in this series as part of my Christmas reading in 2010 and I am intrigued to read more. Christmas Eve at Friday Harbour was quite a short book, so I am hoping this one will be longer. It comes out in January 2012 and will be published by Piatkus.

Summary
The Friday Harbour series of women's fiction novels is set in San Juan Island just off the Washington State Coast - romantic and varied, with rocky shores, sandy beaches, rich woodlands and pasture land - and the prosperous Friday Harbour area. The series is centered around the Nolan family, consisting of two brothers and a sister, the owners of an island vineyard and restaurant. The Nolans' mother Jessica has just passed away, and a mysterious stranger attends the funeral. He reveals that he is the illegitimate child Jessica had given birth to, and given up for adoption, before she married. This family secret leads to many new questions and challenges, which test the bonds of love and loyalty, and ultimately show the Nolans what family is all about.

Scared To Death by Alan Gibbons
I can't resist a good scary book and it seems that Alan Gibbons who wrote An Act of Love has written one. This is out already and published by Orion Children's Books.

Summary
Late one night after a strange journey to Whitechapel in East London, Paul makes a new friend, John Redman—daring and enigmatic, just as Paul longs to be, away from his cloying mother (his only family, so he thinks). Redman immediately charms Paul as well as Jude—a girl they meet on a night on the town. A few days later, Paul learns that Jude has mysteriously died, and Redman has disappeared. Soon after, one of Paul's teacher dies suddenly—frightened to death—near where Jude's body was found. Paul senses that Redman is involved. His new friend is dangerous. But so, we learn, is Paul. In uncovering the truth about Redman he learns shocking facts about himself. There's an evil curse loose in his family and Paul is the latest inheritor. The spree of death—camouflaged as copycat Jack the Ripper-style murders—will continue until Paul confronts the demon in himself head on.

Do you like the look of any of these? What books are on your wish list?
