Random House Bloggers Brunch

On Saturday I was invited to the Random House Bloggers Brunch in Pimlico. I  was so excited to get my invitation as I am huge fan of the books and the authors they publish.

The wonderful publicity team at Random House were so hospitable, providing us with cakes so early in the morning. Soon we were sitting down to a  presentation of all the new books that would coming our way very soon. I have to say a fair amount of squeeing and wowing occurred throughout the presentation. You are not going to believe the amount of amazing books coming from Random House in the near future, but that is a whole other post!

Here is a picture of the lovely team at Random House Children's Books. From left to right: Rosi, Louise, Lauren, Emily, Lauren, Clare, Lisa and Nathalie. These women are amazing and had us all drooling at everything they showed us.

We were also really pleased to meet Andy Mulligan, author of Trash and Lindsey Barraclough, author of Long Lankin. They were both so lovely to talk to. I congratulated Andy on the film rights being picked up by Richard Curtis. He seemed really pleased with the whole project. Lindsey was adorable and I did feel like I hogged her time a bit too much. She was just so easy to talk to. She was telling me about how she did all her research after the first draft was written and where she got all her ideas from. I can't wait to read the book now.
Here are the bloggers who attended the event.
Caroline - Portrait of a Woman
Lynsey - Narratively Speaking
Darren - Bookzone for Boys
Mark and Liz from My Favourite Books
Carly - Writing From The Bath Tub
Sammee - I Want To Read That
Kirsty - The Overflowing Bookshelf
Sarah - Feeling Fictional
Dwayne - Girl Without a Bookshelf
Jenny - Wondrous Reads.

I have to say a big thank you t Sarah from Feeling Fictional for allowing me to use her photos of the event.

We were given a  goody bag which caused even more squeeing. Here are the fabulous books we were given to read.

Trash by Any Mulligan

Long Lankin by Lindsey Barraclough

Dearly Departed by Lia Habel  - you seriously have to check out this author's website. She actually wears Victorian gowns on a regular basis!

Runemarks by Joanne Harris - I love her! Her adult books are just so amazing. I can't wait to read her Young Adult books too.

City of Ghosts by Bali Rai

The Dark Endeavour by Kenneth Oppel

After mentioning my love for all the books by Joanne Harris, Nathalie presented me with Joanne's latest book  Blue Eyed Boy which I haven't read yet!

I had such a wonderful morning at Random House Children's Book and I can't wait to tell you all about the new books they are due to publish later this year. Keep an eye out for another Random House post later this week!
