Ooh mine is there :). I loved Faerie Tale. It was dark and creepy but an excellent read. Looking forward to your reviews of all these next year.
ReplyDeleteSome excellent reads! I agree about Faerie Tale - very creepy and hard to put down. Also glad to see Stardust and The Handmaid's Tale on the list!
ReplyDeleteI've read A Maddness of Angels and I love it!! It takes a while to get used to the writing but then you get sucked into the story. Plus it's set in London which I totally adore as it's my home town! :)
ReplyDeleteThe Slowest Bookworm - I hadn't heard of Faerie Tale before I organised this challenge!
ReplyDeleteNymeth - why is everyone know about Faerie Tale except me? LOL
Mel - I am glad that one is first, as I have been meaning to read it for ages.
Fab list and so diverse. I am really looking forward to your reviews. I might join you and read Jellicoe Road in April (marks it in diary)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with it - such a brilliant idea :D
The Handmaid's Tale is the only one I've read but I see several I'd love to read! Great list!
ReplyDeleteI Am Legend and Stardust are two of my favourites (and far superior to their respective films). I didn't know Practical Magic was based on a book! I must read that one myself.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to see that Jellicoe Road has made it to the final twelve! I'm looking forward to all of your reviews, Viv :) It will be very interesting to hear if you like your readers favorite books.
ReplyDeleteBookangel Emma - that is you booked in then my lovely. I won't let you forget!
ReplyDeleteJen - you can always join me along the way for certain books!
Jenna - I might need to introduce you to Alice Hoffman! She has a real quirkiness to her books that I think you might enjoy. I love Practical Magic as a film, but I haven't read the book yet.
Mari - Eeep! Let's hope I like them. I feel like I have been very brave, letting others choose my books! I can't wait to read Jellicoe Road.
Yay. I was one of the people that chose The Handmaid's Tale. I hope you enjoy it! Although I'll have to wait sooo long to see :'(
ReplyDeleteA little sad to not see Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close on the list but some other great ones on there! I think you'll really like Stardust. I can't remember if I read Practical Magic or not but I remember enjoying the movie. The Handmaid's Tale is an excellent book!
ReplyDeleteOhhhhh! I haven't read any of these! Very interested in all of them but in particular Faery Tale and I Am Legend! Is Stardust based on the film I'm thinking of? (Falling star?) Very excited to read your reviews.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've actually read any of these so I'm looking forward to seeing what you think of them all.
ReplyDeleteI really love Stardust (the film) & have been wanting to read the book for ages, I'm sure it will be much better than the film. I've also heard a lot of good things about Jellicoe Road
Too bad mine didn't make the list but you have some good ones on there. The Handmaid's Tale and Practical Magic are both excellent!
ReplyDeleteI've read both Stardust and Practical Magic and they are both amazing! I really hope you enjoy all the new books!

You have some awesome books lined up for this. I hadn't heard of Faerie Tale either but I do have Jellico Road to read. You might have a few of us reading that one with you lol
ReplyDeleteWhat a bunch of great books there, good luck to you! I absolutely adored Stardust, and Jellicoe Road and The Handmaid's Tale! I've read Practical Magic, but can't remember too many of the details though.. It's an interesting idea, and I hope it goes well for you :)
ReplyDeletePrettybooks - it will be a bit of wait....
ReplyDeleteTrish - Sorry hun. I didn't make the choices, but I will promise I will read it just for you anyway!
Carmen- great list, isn't it. Yes, Stardust is based on the film.
Sarah - it should be an interesting challenge!
Dar - Sorry Dar, I hate anyone being left out. I will try and fit one of yours in too.
Steffikins - I think I might be looking forward to Practical Magic the most.
Teddyree - It would be lovely if others joined in. Make it a book club!
Clover - thank you. It should be OK, at one book a month.
Oh, I'm so sad that Liz didn't choose mine as it is so different from most of the rest on the list. Still I'm sure you'll enjoy the ones there...
ReplyDelete*yay* I see Benny & Shrimp up there! *woot* *woot*
ReplyDeleteHappy reading, those look like some great books. I also loved Practical Magic and Stardust.
Yay one of my books is on there. Enjoy. What a great list x
