I have to say first off - not enough Alex in this book! However, the author shall be forgiven for providing us with the super cute Julian throughout the book. He did live up to my expectations of hot male character, even if he was just a little wimpy to start with.
Pandemonium is the second book in the Delirium trilogy. If you haven't read the first book, I would stop reading right now, because there will be spoilers!
I was a little confused with the book when I began reading it, I struggled to grasp the alternating time periods between then (after Lena escaped to the wilds) and now (six months later). Luckily it didn't take me long to find my way through the story.
Lena is so much tougher in this book, especially when you read the now sections. You can see how she has suffered and how she has grown as a person. She can't afford to let her emotions affect her anymore. There are some brilliant new characters in the book; Raven being one of my favourites. Raven really is a tough cookie and appears so much older than her age. She is like the official mother hen of the group, yet she does have a soul underneath that tough exterior.
This book is very descriptive; you find yourself lost in passages describing the Wilds in great detail, allowing you to almost experience exactly how Lena felt to be there. It is quite depressing at times and I felt thankful when Lena managed to get back into the system she had left.
As you read this book, you realise that it isn't just the people affected by the deliria virus who are in hiding. Anyone who is disfigured in any way, is also shunned from society, believed to be the end result of the deliria virus amongst couples. If they aren't perfect, they are hidden away.
The ending of this book was a complete shocker! I can not lie, I was thrown completely. I do think someone should have warned me. I may delete Twitter friends for not telling me in advance, so I warn all future readers of Pandemonium, be prepared, the ending will leave you gasping!
Now need to wait a whole year to find out what happens next! All books in series should be released in the same month!
