REVIEW: Kindle Fire

Father Christmas was very generous this year and kindly brought me a Kindle Fire. Before I received it I was convinced I didn't need it. I had my normal Kindle which I had only been given the year before - it worked perfectly fine and I could read all my books on it. If I had one thing that niggled me it was purely the lack of back lighting which I could easily solve with a reading light. So I honestly wasn't that fussed about the Kindle Fire...until I got one.
OMG I love my Kindle Fire, if I could have the wires implanted into my brain I would. It is absolutely amazing. As far as I am concerned it can do everything.
For the first week, I didn't even bothered with reading books on it. I was far too busy adding apps. The fact that I can now play Angry Birds in between updating Twitter, checking out Facebook and watching Netflix had me clapping my hands like an over excited seal.
When I finally began to read my books on it, I was so happy to be able to go to bed and not need a light due to the excellent back light on the screen, not to mention the touch screen aspect. I loved my Kindle but the Kindle Fire really is a major improvement. I think the only downside is I have to charge it more so where the old Kindle could normally go all week without charging, the Kindle Fire tends to last a day or two.
If you were looking for a cheaper table for teenagers I would seriously consider this one as it seems to operate in the same way as an Android. OK so it isn't a IPad, but the way I look at it, it really is just as good.
Netflix is definitely my favourite app now and I am watching so much more than I ever did. To be able to watch different series that I have missed in the past is pure candy. I like being to watch a series in all in one go and not have to wait a week for a following episode. With that in mind I thought it would be nice to add a new feature to my side bar to show you what I am watching at the moment. So if you will look to your left, you can see that presently I am devouring Nurse Jackie - Series 2 which I hope to review at a later date.
So if you are thinking of buying a Kindle Fire, I would definitely recommend it. It is one of the best presents I have ever received.

  1. I got a kindle paperwhite for my birthday in October, which has the back light but no colour - I didn't care so much about having internet and I do love my kindle. Plus, mum has an old one and complains that I get book covers and she doesn't!

    1. That was my other option. I nearly got one of those. Less distracting than the Fire. I don't know what to do with my old one.

(As for me, I got an iPad mini. So far, I've put my music on it, and listened to some tunes. :)

  8. So happy you love your new Kindle Fire. I have the keyboard Kindle and just got the new Paperwhite Kindle which I love. Though about the FIRE, but with the iPad it seemed too similar. ENJOY and Happy 2013 Viv.

  9. Hi Vivienne! It's been a while and I hope all is well with you. I'm so excited about your Kindle Fire! And Netflix, oh boy, I love it. It lets me watch lots of Italian movies. LOL! I'm still using my good old Kindle (2nd generation, methinks). Happy reading and here's to a wonderful 2013!
