Are you prepared for The 5th Wave?

Want to know what it’s all about? Read the following Goodreads Summary.
After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.
Now, it’s the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth’s last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie’s only hope for rescuing her brother—or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.

This book is scaring the beejeezus out of me and I haven’t even started reading it. It has that realistic, omen feeling to it. Could it really happen?
The 5th Wave by  Rick Yancey is getting a lot of attention.  Actor Toby Maguire and Academy Award winning director Graham King have already optioned the film rights.
Described as follows: ‘it’s got all the heartbreak of I Am Legend, the literary calibre of The Passage, the epic good vs. evil drama of The Stand, and the adrenaline of The Hunger Games. Basically, it is the story of a very disturbing alien invasion. It questions what it means to be human and the worrying thought of being the last surviving human on earth.’
I can’t wait to read it! Published in the UK by Puffin on May 7th!
