I received two books from  a publisher that I hadn’t heard of before –Scribo. The first book is Aldo Moon and the Ghost of Gravewood Hall by Alex Woolf which is a ghost story and a detective story all rolled into one. Imagine Sherlock Holmes with supernatural powers. This was published in March.
The second book I received from Scribo was Gladiator School – Book 1 – Blood Oath by Dan Scott. Described as a fast paced historical adventure set in ancient Rome. It would probably appeal to anyone who has enjoyed the Caroline Lawrence Roman mysteries. This was also published in March. Thank you Scribo for sending them through.
The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey is being published by Penguin in May. The film rights to the book have already been sold to Hollywood actor Tobey Maguire. This is the first book in a new trilogy about an alien invasion designed to wipe out the human race in five waves. Thank you Riot Communications.

I received a lovely package from Simon and Schuster full of New Adult titles. Two books by Jennifer Echols – Going Too Far and Forget You, which are her best loved novels in the US, featuring her trademark edgy teen characters and gritty love stories.  I also received the first three books in the Sea Breeze series from Abbi Glines, which are due out at the end of April. I have just finished Because of Low and reviewed it yesterday on here. I am so happy to be quoted on the back of the three books as shown below.

Dead Silence by Kimberly Derting is published by Headline in April. This the fourth book in very popular Body Finder series, where Violet has grappled with her ability to to sense the echoes of those who have been murdered. Thank you Headline.
If You Find Me by Emily Murdock is published in May by Indigo. This is Emily’s first book and is a contemporary tale of life on the wrong side of the American Dream. This is one of those books that will stay with you long after you finish it. Thank you Indigo.
The Shadow Lantern by Teresa Flavin is the third and final book in the Blackhope Enigma series. I have read the first two and really enjoyed them, so really looking forward to this one. Thank you Templar.
I received the first two books in the Maisie Hitchins series by Holly Webb which are being published by Stripes this month. Maisie Hitchins is a detective out to solve crimes in Victorian London. These books are aimed at the 9 to 12 age bracket. Thank you Stripes.
My Friend The Enemy by Dan Smith is published by Chicken House. I am super excited by this one as I speak quite regularly to Dan on Twitter. This is set during World War II and is aimed at 9 to 12 year olds. It explores the moral dilemma of helping the enemy. Dan is usually known for his adult fiction so this is his first ever book for children. Thank you Chicken House.
