Top Ten Tuesday– Beach Reads

TTT3W_thumb
Top Ten Tuesday is a meme organised by The Broke and The Bookish. This week’s topic is what would be my top ten beach reads. If I’m going to the beach then personally I need something light. I love the idea of reading books set in holiday destinations or perhaps road trips. Some of the books listed I’ve read, but the last few are ones I can’t wait to take on holiday with me.

1) From What I Remember by Stacy Kramer and Valerie Thomas
This is the ultimate road trip book. A definite beach read. The kids are about to graduate and there is a whole section set in Mexico. Need I say more?

2) Because of Low by Abbi Glines
Anything by Abbi Glines would fit nicely into this list. The Sea Breeze series set in the coastal town of the same name in Alabama just oozes beach read.

3) Rainshadow Road by Lisa
I actually took this one on holiday with me and it was the ideal beach read. I love the Friday Harbour series, set in the magical seaside town.

4) Forbidden Friends by Anne-Marie Conway
I know this is aimed at a younger audience, but I still think it would make a great beach read as it is set during a holiday in Spain.

5) The Vincent Boys by Abbi Glines.
If I thought I could I would just fill this list with Abbi Glines books but it wouldn’t be fair to you as my readers. But The Vincent Boys is definitely a beach read!

6) Emma Hearts LA by Keris Stainton
Set in LA this really does need to be read on the beach, with a cocktail in the other hand. Keris really captures the glamorous side of life in California.

7) Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire
Travis is so hot you need to be able to cool off with a dip in the water after reading all about him.
9285100
8) Dream Lake by Lisa Kleypas
This is the next book in the series set at Friday Harbour and I will definitely be packing it to take away.

9) The Help by Kathryn Stockett
This is set in Mississippi during the 60’s and is a book I’ve been meaning to read for a long time. Anything with a Southern feel should be a beach read.

10) Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles
A series I’ve been meaning to read for a long time. Definitely a beach read.

  1. Beautiful Disaster is one of my favorite books. Definitely something I would read at the beach.

  2. Writing down From What I remember to read ASAP-- sounds fantastic. And The Help is so so so good! Aaaah. Sometimes I wish I could unread it just to read it again for the first time.
I love your site design at the top, by the way! It's beautiful.
