Happy World Book Night 2012!

Happy World Book Night everyone!
Yes, I am a giver again this year.  On Thursday I went to my local library to pick up my box of 24 books, excitement building instantly. I really do love taking part in this event.
This year I am giving away I Capture The Castle by Dodie Smith, one of my all time favourite books and one I have read many times over the years. If you haven't read about Cassandra and her rather unusual family then you really must. Cassandra lives in a rundown castle with her poor family, who all live in the hope that one day their father will finish his second book, taking the world by storm once again. When the American heirs of the castle arrive to live in the house on the property, their lives are turned upside down. Simon and Neil add magic to Cassandra's life as she embarks on falling in love for the first time.
I Capture The Castle was written in the 1940's by Dodie Smith, who was a famous UK playwright living in America at the time and later went on to write her most famous book, One Hundred And One Dalmatians. While writing this book, Dodie longed to return to England and wrote this book in remembrance of happier times before the war had begun.
When I think of this book, I often think of Elizabeth von Armin's book, The Enchanted April. Both are truly magical and show how a  little love can change your perception and attitude towards life. This was probably the first book I read  that would be considered YA, so it seems Dodie Smith was very much ahead of her time.
Similar to last year, I will be spending the day handing out these books to people encouraging them to read it. I  shall be targeting a couple of secondary schools at it would be lovely to see the teens of today enjoying the book for the first time.
In order to celebrate World Book Night 2012 I have one copy to give away on the blog. This will be an international competition as I have the copy in my possession and will close on the 30th April. All you have to do is leave your name and your email address in the comments. You do not need to have a blog to enter. So if you would love a copy of this magical classic, then please enter your details in the comments below.
