The month of February brings two lovely events to the blog world. Firstly we have

Clover at Fluttering Butterflies is having a month long celebration of love. She will be reviewing lots of books that deal with romance, as well as featuring other love related posts and guest bloggers. I have agreed to join in and hope to be able give Clover a couple of guest posts. Do pop over and give your support for the most loving month in the calendar.

Secondly we have Persephone Weekend at the end of the month ( 25th of February till 27th February) which is run jointly by Claire at Paperback Reader and Verity at Cardigangirlverity. If you have been toying with the idea of reading a Persephone book then this is the time to do it. The lovely ladies will be linking up with other bloggers who take part in the weekend. I hope to be able to join in and read one of my Persephone books. I will also be organising a giveaway too.

I am off to my second Creative Writing class tonight and I can't wait. The last class looked closely at using photographs to stimulate your creativity. We all had to write our thoughts on different pictures and I came away with a couple of short story possibilities. We were given homework too which involved analysing some poetry and explaining which ones we liked best and why. I am so glad I decided to join this class. That's my randomness for this Tuesday. What random thoughts are going through your head?
What was your picture Vivienne? Thanks for the PRW mention!
ReplyDeleteIt was a 1950's picture of a well to do woman dressed in black. I turned it into a story about a widow standing at a grave, laughing at the rest of the family, as she inherits all and they get nothing. The Black Widow rises again. No probs with the mention. Very excited to be joining in.
ReplyDeleteBothe events look fun. I have never read a persephone book, but I have heard much about them. I am tempted to try the readalong.
ReplyDeleteThe book I posted about today has photos scattered throughout - the story builds on them after a character finds them in a box of mementos. I enjoyed it.
ReplyDeleteYour creative writing classes sound interesting, I look forward to reading more.
ReplyDeleteI hope tonight's class is just as good. Looking forward to Persephone Weekend...I'll be reading one on the flight to London!
ReplyDeleteYour creative writing class sounds like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to review some love-related books this month too! :D And I might venture to try to read my first Persephone book this month (if you don't count Flush, which apparently is a Persephone book but I didn't realize it at the time).
ReplyDeleteYour creative writing class sounds like such fun! Enjoy!!!
ReplyDeleteHope to try a Persephone book soon. This sounds like the perfect chance.
ReplyDeleteFun RRT post, Vivienne! I hope you enjoy your writing class; it sounds quite inspiring. (You may want to try a "Magpie" as well, an online writing prompt plus a linky!I've had fun with a couple.) I will link to this post the next time I do RRT. :)
ReplyDeleteLove Month sounds like fun as does Persephone Weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe Creative Writing class sounds interesting! Enjoy it :)
Awww, Love Month - how sweet.
ReplyDeletePersephone weekend - that sounds very, very cool. I'd join in if I was more disciplined with my reading. I'm just gonna watch from the sidelines. :D
Good luck in your creative writing class, hun! :D I really miss mine from uni. We used to do that too - be given a photo or a picture each and write a story that's inspired by it. So much fun!
Wonder if I could get my hands on a Persephone book in time to join in! I've been waiting to read one of their books and just got my first biannual catalogue but haven't figured out where to start yet. Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're enjoying your class! I see your answer to verity's question about the photo--sounds like a great prompter!
Thanks for linking my love month :) I hope it's something that people enjoy reading.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're having fun at the creative writing class and can't wait for the next one. Good luck!
