You probably don't remember me, but I remember you. And you and I have a common enemy. How do you feel about getting a little revenge on Brendan Salinger and Emman Conner? You're just the person to help me hit them where it hurts...
Finding your eternal soulmate - easy.
Stopping a true-love-hungry evil - not so much…
After breaking a centuries-old romantic curse, Emma Connor is (almost) glad to get back to normal problems. Although...it's not easy dealing with the jealous cliques and gossip that rule her exclusive Upper East Side prep, even for a sixteen-year-old newbie witch. Having the most-wanted boy in school as her eternal soul mate sure helps ease the pain-especially since wealthy, rocker-hot Brendan Salinger is very good at staying irresistibly close....
But something dark and hungry is using Emma and Brendan's deepest fears to reveal damaging secrets and destroy their trust in each other. And Emma's crash course in über-spells may not be enough to keep them safe…or to stop an inhuman force bent on making their unsuspected power its own.
I really loved the first book Spellbound, so I was ecstatic to see Spellcaster become available on Net Galley and I snapped it up. I wasn't disappointed, although I did feel a little sorry for Brendan and Emma, it only seemed a little while ago that they were facing death and disaster, and here they were again, dealing with another life threatening situation.
I just can't get enough of Brendan and Emma! This whole soul mates scenario just has me drooling and they make such a cute couple. Every girl should have a Brendan in there life! I definitely think they must be one of my most favourite fictional couples. They just make you want to fall in love all over again. Within this book, we get to poke around a lot more in there relationship, as they move to take it to the next step. The love and lust in overpowering and almost dripping off the pages. Brendan has obviously been a bit of a boy in the past, but now he has found his soul mate he is chivalrous to the end.
Angelique really comes into her own in this book, she is sarcastic and standoffish and I completely love her. If I were in high school with her, I would be stalking her to be my best friend. Within this book, she gets to tell her side of the story and you get to see just how loyal a friend she is to Emma.
I love the sarcasm in general in this story, often I could be found sniggering over something either Emma or Angelique says.
Emma's talents as a witch definitely move up the ladder of success. She is really beginning to understand her abilities and finds herself coming up against a really nasty character. The book is filled to the brim with action and drama, often leaving you breathless, as you hope that no one can tear the soul mates apart.
A fabulous page turning read which left me wanting more. A much better sequel than some books I have read in other series. Well developed characters, taking on more danger than before and making themselves at home in your heart. One of the best modern day witch series around.
Jokingly there is a moral to this story - don't be a slut as it will come back to bite you in the ass!
